The Story
It all started with a poorly played match. As often happens, I had signed up for this competitive match without knowing any of the players I would be playing with. After winning the first set, during the second set, there was a dispute over the score.
My partner and I were sure we were right, but due to the insistence of one of the opponents, we decided to let it go, for the sake of peace, and accepted what the opponents claimed. Unfortunately, we were truly convinced we were right and got nervous. From that moment on, we started playing poorly and lost the next two sets.
Once I got home, reflecting on what had happened, I told myself that this wouldn’t have happened if we had a scoreboard that could be updated remotely and visible to everyone.
So, I started browsing the Internet to find a device that did what I had in mind. I found several, but none met all my desires:
- I wanted a scoreboard that could be attached to the net of the court. They were all wall-mounted or placed on the ground. That didn’t work for me.
- I wanted a scoreboard large enough to be seen by all players, but at the same time lightweight, portable, and battery powered. Impossible!
- I wanted a scoreboard that allowed choosing the type of game from various modes: “Killer Point” ,“Advantages” ,“Continuous Matches”, etc.
- I wanted a scoreboard with automatic brightness adjustment of the display, based on ambient light.
- I wanted a scoreboard that also answered the question Who’s serving now?”. It didn’t exist.
- I wanted a scoreboard with a protective case that allowed it to be carried in a bag without getting damaged. There were none.
- I wanted a scoreboard that could be remotely controlled by a single player using a wristband. Forget it!
Well, disappointed by the search results, I decided to create what I needed myself. And here is the patents and the result: 153040.WIN

FAQ
The scoreboard can be hung anywhere outside the court net. By regulation, nothing can be attached inside the court net. It is recommended that the scoreboard be placed on the side of one of the court access doors, at eye level.
The pitch netting may overlap the display segments, yet the score remains clearly readable from any position where the front screen is visible.
The bracelet strap is easily removable and made of washable materials. This ensures hygiene. Do not use straps used by others without washing them.
Battery life is highly dependent on battery wear. New, fully charged batteries allow for indoor play for up to 8 hours. Outdoors, the brightness of the LEDs automatically increases, resulting in a decrease in battery life. However, with new, fully charged batteries, the battery life is at least a couple of hours at maximum brightness.
The batteries of the scoreboard are rechargeable and do not need to be replaced as long as they provide sufficient autonomy. All batteries, with use and over time, are subject to intrinsic degradation and therefore must be replaced by specialized personnel when they are no longer able to last the time of a game.
If the batteries run down beyond a certain level during a game, the battery saving mode automatically kicks in, turning the LEDs on for about three seconds when any button is pressed, and turning them off immediately afterwards to reduce energy consumption. The situation of LEDs off due to energy saving mode is signaled by a single LED being lit.
